"Lego League"
A Neurodiverse Play and Social Skills Group
(Ages 5-9)

What is a "Lego League"
Neurodiverse Play Group?
Our OTs at Milestones On The Go are partnering with Speech Therapists at Rivanna Therapy Services to offer this super fun, creative Lego League Play Group!
This ongoing group will provide your child the opportunity to play, socialize, and work cooperatively with peers to build Lego structures chosen by the group!
Your child will learn important skills such as cooperation, socialization, and delayed gratification while simultaneously building fine motor, visual motor, visual perceptual, and bilateral skills.
This group is designed for children ages 5-9 of varying abilities via a cooperative and collaborative learning model.

Who benefits from the
"Lego League" Group?
Does your child love to play and build with Legos? Could they also benefit from peer interaction, socialization and cooperative learning? Have they struggled to be successful in other playgroups or camps that might not have been led by trained therapists? If so, this group might be a great fit for your kiddo!
Children who will be most successful in the group will have the ability to follow simple directions and be able to separate from their parents/caregivers to attend the group.

What activities do you do in this group?
Each week your child will participate in fun, group based sensori-motor activities and play followed by building with Legos!
The group will select a Lego set to build and will spend however many weeks is required to complete it. Some Lego structures that have been built to date are:
Lego Marvel Venom Groot, Lego City Recycling Truck, and Lego Paris Skyline, to name a few. :)
